The focus of Garner Law Firm is Elder Law, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Real Estate Transactions and Small Business Planning.

Elder Law is a specialized field of law that places an emphasis on issues which affect the growing aging population. This are of law combines elements of Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Guardianship, Health Care Planning, Medicare/Medicaid Planning, Veteran’s Benefits, Special Assistance, Nursing Home, Assisted Living and Elder Rights.

Estate Planning assists in helping people arrange their affairs in order to protect assets and care for family during life and after death. Documents discussed include Wills, Trusts, Power of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney, Declaration of Desire for Natural Death, Medical Directives and Medical Release Forms. Garner Law Firm also incorporates Special Needs Trusts and Disability Planning into the practice.

Estate Administration includes gathering the assets of the estate, paying the decedent’s debts, and distributing the remaining assets to the beneficiaries.

Real Estate involves leased, purchases, exchanges, sales and refinancing of real property.

Small Business involves advising clients as to the different types of business entities, formation of business entities and guiding clients through procedures to maintain a successful entity.

Qualifications:

Jennifer B Garner, a Moore County resident and graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, has fifteen years of law practice experience and is an accredited Attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is an elected member of the Elder Law Counsel for the North Carolina Bar Association.

Jennifer’s professional and community involvement has included the Sandhills Area Chamber of Commerce, Moore County Board of Education, Moore Regional Hospital Foundation, Retired and Seniors Volunteer Program, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Southern Pines Jaycees, Southern Pines Business Association, North Carolina Bar Association and Moore County Bar Association. Jennifer has been honored with the US Congressional District Outstanding Citizen Award and the William F. Hollister Award for Volunteer of the Year.

Jennifer is a graduate of Pinecrest High School and UNC-G (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude). She married her high school sweetheart, Brad, who is a pilot for American Airlines. They have been blessed with three beautiful children: Caitlin, Andrew and Emma Grace. They make their home in Southern Pines. Jennifer is currently a soccer, basketball, cheerleading, dance and Brownie mom. Jennifer is fortunate to have her parents, in-laws, and grandparents as members of the local community.
